Exhibiting Artist: Prasad Beaven

Beaven’s childhood in the foothills of the Himalayas has had a major influence on him and his outlook on life. This early immersion in the mountains has fostered a love for the majestic beauty that nature has to offer. As a practitioner of meditation, he knows the importance of inner well-being and strives to constantly achieve a state of peace, which permeates into his paintings.

Through studying at the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts (PFSTA), Beaven has been greatly inspired by Chinese Landscape Painting. Beaven displays an understanding of the subtlety that is used through Chinese landscape painting techniques. There is emphasis on not just imitating nature, but expressing the significance of such a tranquil beauty and meaning.  Beaven responds by reflecting his own feelings of calmness and serenity through his work.

Beaven was awarded the 2021 PFSTA Ciclitira Prize.
