Qianhui Sun

Alice Qianhui Sun is presenting 女娲NüwaIII:It’s better to have two--Mom, 2022. This self portrait depicts Sun as an interpreted version of  女娲Nüwa, the Chinese goddess of motherhood. The work echo’s Sun’s mothers want for another child under the one-child policy context with Sun reenacting a birth of two toy unicorns in a surreal comment on the journey from girlhood to womanhood. .
