Angelika Prapa
Exhibiting Artist: Angelika Prapa
Angelika Prapa was born in Graz, Austria, and was raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. After her studies in Comparative Literature and Psychology, she followed a professional career in writing and editing didactic and psychological-medical Books. Her lifelong interest in painting combined with her need to express all her theoretical knowledge and her bicultural background lead her to the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where she graduated with excellence. She has participated in many exhibitions and her works are in museums and private collections.
In Angelika’s paintings the interpretation of our world joins hands with the realisation of its illusion and this is expressed, using elements of the illustrations of North European tales dating from the last century, in which perspective and proportions are distorted and lighting is unrealistic employed in order to offer an attentive view.
