Exhibiting Artist: Euan Wallace

Euan Wallace is a lens-based artist fascinated with the ability of juxtaposed images to explore wide reaching themes.

Shooting primarily on 4x5 film, his intention is to draw attention to the technical photographic process, as well as engage with its history as a tool for either the assertion of power or the promotion of human empathy.

Euan’s work is focused on the latter. His current and ongoing project; We Wait for the Rain, is a multilingual journey across Latin America, following groups and individuals who are searching the earth for things lost or wanted - from miners, farmers and archaeologists to families searching for the remains of relatives lost to natural disaster and the drug trade. As they dig, they uncover the forces that shape this vast region.

When he’s not promoting his work, he can be found conducting primary research with an unreasonably large backpack and several boxes of film.
