Zubair Mahomed (b.1993) is a contemporary artist living in Cape Town,South Africa. He uses painting and digital illustration to create his bold and playful works.
Zubair’s inspiration is drawn from his childhood memories, daily life, pop-culture, amongst other subjects, and is translated into cartoon-like drawings. He often combines well-known brands, items and icons with a tagline or sentiment, creating a new vernacular in which they are expressed. The interpretations are personal and may vary from individual to individual, but the underlying feelings of nostalgia and positivity are the same.
